BEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME MUST WATCH!!!

This is a well animated thrill ride, to start of his is must watch movie this is easily by far the best movie iv ever seen, easily a 5 star movie. For a follow up of the book this is amazing it dosnt dissapoint and is definatly better than the book. There's a little swearing, violence, smoking and kissing bu overall I think this movie is okay for children over the age of 12. For a steven Spielberg movie this dose not disappoint, THIS IS A MUST WATCH MOVIE!!!

Colourfully animated thrill ride

Ready Player One is stock full of references to popular culture and involves an interesting easter-egg hunt in a world so crapsack that almost everyone has resigned to virtual escapism, even while they are forced to stack dilapidated (formerly) mobile trailers on top of each other...What is confusing however is the odd absence of any government, despite the society being portrayed as somewhat orderly-with obvious exceptions related to the plot. This government then shows up just in the nick of time... Like some kind of prescient script armour for the protagonist. The set design and worldbuilding is wonderful however, and the fast-paced animation is certainly a treat for the eyes. And for a movie about teenagers, the acting is also impactful and genuine... Maybe not best utilized by some silly plot moments.

Language alert!

Engaging story, great effect, but the language! I'm not easily offended and have a broad use of colourful language however the overuse of sh*t and even Holy f*ck in a 12 rated film??? And the story references The Shining- a river of blood appears in one scene followed by a rear view of a naked lady quickly changing into a scary old lady with a huge zombie knife- I cannot believe this is only a 12!

Good movie but too much and unnecessaryswearing

If you take down a bit the swearing and avoid two high tone scenes, it would have been a great family movie. I watched it with my kids (I had watched it before), but they like 80s and 90s movies like me. They are 9 and 4 years old. The dancing scene, was a bit "warm" and the youngest would not notice it, I said something in this moment as a distraction. The other scene is in the scary part, with the excuse of getting past the scary things, they didn't lose anything essential. The scene is very scary and has a naked woman.

Ready? Ok..it's ok.

A lot of expectation surrounding this film and the always impossible task of condensing too many pages of literature into a 2.5 hour film. I had no expectations...my husband was the one with the lit-expectations...I found the film entertaining and visually fun. I also found it long...in other words a bit draggy in its self importance...it felt like scenes were filmed for fans’ benefits more so than for the benefit of pacing. It is always a pleasure to see diverse casting and I thought they portrayed dystopia well. A fun ride if you have no expectations.

Disappointing for book lovers

The plot changes seemed totally unnecessary, especially since the book plot was so much better! It's a good family movie that could be conversation starters about social issues and what each of us are responsible for as members of society. The book was awesome...they've ruined the movie by making too many changes.
