Is Counter-Strike Global Offensive safe for kids?
I'll admit at first when my son came to me about this game I turned it down. However, after doing some extensive research and not just going off my own personal anti-bias towards shooting games I realized, that this game is just like all others in the genre. A few things that stood out to me when doing my research were the fact that blood, voice chat with others, and the text chat feature can easily be turned off. On top of this, there is no sexualizing of any gender in any way in this game. Now let's talk about the graphics. They are realistic, however, it is impossible to see any gore or specifics of guns or people in Counter-Strike Global Offensive. Overall I believe that if you allow your son to see pg-13 movies they are more than capable to play this game. Rest assured that your kid will be safe while playing and is all set to have a blast with his friends! Hopefully, this review helped!

Not bad, as long as your child knows that violence isnt a joke.
Personally, ive been playing this game for a while, and it’s nothing close to COD or other games like that .And again with Common Sense media giving inaccurate reviews, as well as giving 2 starts on a classic game. I’d say this is best for children 11+. VIOLENCE: There is blood. But you are barely able to see it as the only time it is easily visible is when you get shot near a wall, which will show a small splatter, but nothing excessive.SWEARING: There is no in-game dialogue that Swears or cusses. However, there is voice chat. Here, players can say whatever they please. But this can be turned of by simply muting Voice chat in the game settings.ROLE MODEL VALUE: This game is about Counterterrorists (good guys) and Terrorists (Bad Guys). There is 2 teams that compete. The value in this teaches about Good, and Bad.Over all, This game is definitely recommended for tweens and above. As long as your child can handle competition and fast pace play. The game is also Free, which is definitely a good thing for the Parents out there. As long as the voice chat is muted, and your child gets good grades, has maturity, and knows that violence is a real thing, your tween-teen will have fun with this game.

Players can post p*rnography within the game using "sprays"
This is a free to play game that makes it's money by selling keys for real money for players to use to open digital "crates" to randomly win mostly common but sometimes rare in-game skins. Their primary method of profit is from a system of gambling. That aside, what made me stop allowing my children to play this game was actually playing with them and seeing that other players have the ability to "spray" p*rnographic images and GIF's within the game that other players cannot filter out. I thought my children were safe by me making sure in-game chat, voice channels, and player names were being filtered, but the p*rnography being posted within the game is worst than anything of those other things. I did some research and it's been a known problem for YEARS but the game makers have refused to address it. If you're not OK with you're kids randomly viewing p*rnography within a video game, then I highly suggest you spend some time playing the game yourself before making the decision to let any children that you are raising play it.

Over Exaggerated
Counter strike is a really good game, (one of the best I would say) but I can see the negatives that can make it less appealing to parents. The game consists of up to 30 rounds where players are split up into teams of five and try to accomplish their respective goals in order to win the round. This site says that there is a plethora of violence and blood but I think that statement is over exaggerated; it is much more closer to your action themed PG 13 movie. Another thing that maybe influencing your decision is the “very toxic” rating. However all chats that these toxic behaviours can be found in, can easily be turn off in settings. Another thing that I think is important to say is that Counter Strike isn’t anymore toxic than other games in the fps genre like Valorant or Call of Duty just to name a few. Overall I think that this game deserves more than 2 stars (what this site gives it) and over exaggerates the negatives. I hope this review helps in your decision.

A Wholesome Adventure for My Young Gamer.
As a mother, I'm always on the lookout for games that provide both entertainment and valuable life lessons for my ten-year-old son. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) has pleasantly surprised me by striking that perfect balance. While initially, I had concerns about the game's content, I've come to see the positive aspects it offers.First and foremost, I appreciate how CS:GO encourages teamwork and cooperation. My son has learned that success in the game comes not just from individual skills, but from working together with his teammates to achieve a common goal. This lesson translates beautifully into his real-life interactions, teaching him the importance of communication and collaboration.Additionally, CS:GO has enhanced his strategic thinking and decision-making abilities. The game requires him to analyze situations quickly, make split-second choices, and adapt his strategies on the fly. These skills have spilled over into his schoolwork, where he's become more confident in tackling complex problems and managing his time effectively. Moreover, I've noticed that CS:GO has sparked an interest in geography and culture. The game's various maps are set in different real-world locations, and this has prompted my son to research these places, learn about their history, and appreciate their unique features. It's like a virtual global tour that's both educational and engaging.CS:GO's emphasis on fair play and sportsmanship has also made an impact on my son's character. He's become more gracious in victory and more understanding in defeat. The game's strict anti-cheating measures have taught him the importance of integrity and playing by the rules, values that resonate in various aspects of his life.As a concerned parent, I'm pleased with the safety measures in place within CS:GO. The game's content filters and community-driven reporting system help ensure that my son's online experience remains positive and free from inappropriate interactions. In conclusion, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has pleasantly surprised me as a game that offers much more than just entertainment. It's a platform that nurtures essential life skills, promotes cultural curiosity, and reinforces positive values. My son's enthusiasm for the game has turned into an opportunity for growth and learning, and I couldn't be happier with his experiences in the world of CS:GO.
