Of course, reporting in the forum would've made more sense. #7711 Cannot connect to router after upgrading to r53662 Jerry__D wrote: | I have today upgraded my Linksys WRT1200AC(v1) to r53662 and have lost connection with the router. Cannot access it at all. Ping times out. r53633 worked fine. My router IP is 10.0.0.1 so I thought that perhaps the upgrade might have changed that to the Linksys default of 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 and I tried using those addresses, but to no avail. Short of resetting to the factory settings, is there something else I can do to regain access to my router? |

@Wizo: Either you never read it or your information retention skills are questionable:Sticky: _________________ "Life is but a fleeting moment, a vapor that vanishes quickly; All is vanity" Contribute To DD-WRT Pogo - A minimal level of ability is expected and needed... We were not all born router Experts.I had no router at the time and was reading on a phone :p Needless to say, Give this update a miss! Thanks, AlexGT for being helpful, shame all aren't. I always knew there was a risk in flashing firmware but this one did scare me a little... Payday is 2 weeks away and a new router was not on my horizon yet. Sorry "BrainSlayer" I'm not brave enough to try this one again today Last edited by Wizo on Mon Oct 16, 2023 12:27; edited 1 time in total |

Same situation here with WRT1900ACSv2. I reverted using the power/on off, which I already knew how to do since I've done it a bunch of times over the years. Didn't need someone rude and mean to tell me how to do it here |

| Posted: Mon Oct 16, 2023 12:48 Post subject: | | Got mine back up. Doesn't seem that 53662 bricks the 1200 but simply will not allow access to the router UI/internet. Tried everything but finally got the 30 sec reset method to allow access to the UI. Version was not previous 53633 or the new 53662 but the previous 53616. Updated user/password data to continue. Best guess is 53662 failed, silently, broke navram so neither 53662 or 53633(previous) could boot. After access, upgraded to 53633 then restored 53633 backup. All seems to be working fine now. |
